Perhaps it is because Greenbriar Mansion has such a small resident population that it fosters friendly intimacy among the group. We observed the staff and manager cheerfully attending to residents' needs and smiling constantly during our tour. The facility offers three daily activities, including bingo and cards. Residents take part in weekly outings to local destinations such as the library.

The facility boasts pretty views of the surrounding urban neighborhood from its position atop a grassy hill. Vividly hued flowers decorate the manicured lawn surrounding the pink brick building, where four columns support an attractive portico. The tastefully appointed entryway is full of rich color, from the maroon carpeting to the Queen Anne furniture upholstered in purple. Dark wooden accents offer a pleasing contrast to the entryway's white walls and columns. Lamps cast mellow light throughout the facility. Windows brighten the broad hallways. Residents enjoy large, sunny rooms with royal blue carpet and painted baseboards.

A vaulted ceiling commands attention in the spacious dining room. Expansive windows and recessed fixtures spill light onto the linen-draped tables. A baby grand piano and floral arrangements add sophisticated elements to the room. Daily snacks include fresh vegetables and fruit. Hearty favorites such as meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans are staples on the menu.
