The Courtyards at River Park seems far from civilization. Visitors can easily imagine they are vacationing in a national forest—towering pine and oak trees dwarf shrubs and flowers across the five-acre campus. Abundant outdoor seating areas allow residents to take in the view.

The residents love playing bingo and board games. They also frequent shopping areas and join in community events. Scheduled activities at the facility include exercise, religious services and watching guest performances. The facility features a craft room. Residents and their guests enjoy using the swimming pool. We saw a handful of residents as they interacted pleasantly with staff members, who addressed them by their first names.

Mellow lighting and the green and beige color scheme contribute to a homey atmosphere. Group meetings and card games take place in the spacious lounge area, which is warmed by a fireplace. The wide hallways are clear and lined with handrails. Residents' large rooms offer beautiful views of the campus. The dining room is easily accessible from all residents' rooms. The menu lists homemade meals, such as fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and fruit pie. Residents may also choose from healthy alternatives such as vegetables and salads.
