Ashley Court is tucked away in Turtle Creek, a wealthy residential neighborhood in Dallas. Residents are just minutes from the vibrant downtown area, which offers endless entertainment options, ranging from movie theaters to art galleries. The facility is located in a small, cheerful yellow house with green shutters, which blends seamlessly with the surrounding condos and town homes. Large plants decorate the front porch. Tall trees and a manicured lawn surround the property.
The tidy facility is furnished in a practical manner. The hallways are free of obstacles. Residents’ moderately sized rooms have limited windows. The common room features TVs, couches and separate seating areas. Tasteful floral arrangements are placed throughout the facility. Plentiful natural light supplements the soft artificial lighting. During our visit, the facility was bustling with staff, residents and visitors, which contributed to an energetic atmosphere—somewhat unusual for a SNF. The staff appeared to be quite attentive to residents’ needs. The manager is an RN who is involved in every aspect of residents’ care.
