Veranda Preston Hollow sits on a shady road just off of Central Expressway in an upscale Dallas neighborhood. Residents are treated to a plush lobby equipped with a small library, a grand piano, an aquarium (with eels!) and a cappuccino station. The conference room in the entry doubles as the private dining room. Large windows usher in plentiful sunlight and offer lovely garden views. Veranda Preston Hollow offers assisted living services as well as Alzheimer's and dementia care. The dementia unit is secured. There is a front desk attendant on duty all night, and video monitoring provides additional security.

Residents' rooms vary in size from small to medium. The dining room is an elegant setting of dark wood chairs upholstered in pretty fabric, soft lighting from decorative sconces, fine china and fresh flowers atop white linen tablecloths. A waitstaff serves three meals a day. One furnished common area features a big-screen TV and a popcorn machine; the other serves as a game room. Each floor has a beverage bar that offers coffee, and assorted teas and juices. The outdoor patio on the second floor is an inviting spot for residents to relax on comfortable rocking chairs while enjoying the quiet outdoors. The hallways are broad and clean. Recessed lighting throughout the building complements the flood of natural light from numerous windows.

Residents participate in various organized activities. Trivia and word play are an important part of cognitive stimulation, and fitness instruction provides regular physical activity. Residents also attend field trips to botanical gardens and state fairs. Residents have access to physical and occupational therapy equipment on the fourth floor, which also houses Veranda Preston Hollow's skilled nursing facility.
