Stone Bridge is located just off Walnut Hill Lane, adjacent to White Rock Lake Park. The exterior stucco walls are washed in pale yellow and accented by a stone base trim. Flowerbeds, shrubs and trees grace the circular driveway. Victorian furniture surrounds a cherrywood coffee table in the elegant lobby. The facility is decorated with silk flowers and hanging prints of equally stunning floral arrangements. Residents' rooms are moderately sized. Each has two windows with matching curtains and berber carpeting. Both dining rooms are furnished with dark wood tables and chairs. Placemats and fragrant flowers give the rooms a homey feel. Activity rooms are adjacent to the courtyard. During our visit, the kitchen staff prepared an appetizing lemon pepper chicken with fresh vegetables and sweet cinnamon apples. The staff offers a variety of snacks that includes fresh fruit, cookies, crackers and breads. Residents gathered in the kitchen to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as part of the weekly cooking calendar. The building surrounds the outdoor courtyard. Residents enjoy the shady patio, with its comfy lawn furniture. Garden paths wind between colorful flowerbeds and shrubs. The three-tier stone fountain is a lovely centerpiece. The building is bathed in natural light; fluorescent lighting adds to the warm glow. The hallways are spacious and neat. The residents of Stone Bridge are a lively group. They enjoy weekly activities including movie matinees, manicures, fitness instruction, gardening and weekly devotional services. The atmosphere buzzed with energy on our visit, while staff and residents mingled comfortably in every corner of the building.
