Joyce Hall, Presbyterian Village North's assisted living facility, sits on a sixty-three acre campus. A creek runs beneath trees and through open spaces on the property. The three-story atrium creates a stunning entrance to the building. The lobby area, at the confluence of the main resident halls, houses the concierge desk. A grandfather clock ticks nearby in a cozy living room that features a fireplace and bookshelves. The lighting was somewhat dim in areas; this was particularly the case in the long hallways, which terminate in arched windows.

The friendly nurse manager conducted our tour. Residents enjoy luxurious apartments; all have spacious bathrooms featuring mirrored closets, heat lamps and a long vanity. Curtains dress the expansive windows. A small closet near the bathroom adds extra storage space. Some of the apartments boast balconies and vaulted ceilings.

The upscale dining room is used exclusively for meals. The facility has multiple common areas; one has a sewing machine, a second is set up for games, and sofas furnish yet another with a balcony and a full-service kitchen. Due to the limited activities offered by the facility, which include exercise, outings, and performances by local entertainers, most residents create their own activities. This seems to work well, as many residents know each other from living in other areas of the campus.
