Interlochen rests against a hillside in residential Arlington, amid trees and shrubs. Artificial plants complement the green and beige walls in the entry, which features comfortable furniture. The garden areas, hallways, floors and residents' rooms were all undergoing an extensive remodel at the time of our visit. Management hopes that the remodel will make the facility a bit more homey. Sunlight warms residents' moderately sized rooms. The furnished rooms boast satellite TV and extra space for personal belongings. The dining area doubles as an activities area. Feeding assistance is provided in smaller dining rooms. Near the dining area is the facility's therapy room, an important element of rehabilitative therapy. The wide hallways are softly lit, in keeping with the rest of the facility. Staff members interacted warmly with residents and actively encouraged residents as they assisted them in performing activities of daily living. We found the management team friendly and helpful.
