Nestled in a residential neighborhood with close access to a major highway, Belle Haven sits on a corner surrounded by shady pine trees. The red and white stucco building boasts a covered porch off to one side, an outdoor haven for residents on temperate days. At the time of our visit, many residents were lounging in padded lawn chairs, and enjoying the comings and goings. Inside, a small winding staircase leads visitors to a cozy reception area. The walls are covered with pretty beige wallpaper bordered by a textured floral pattern. Comfortable armchairs and Norman Rockwell prints make for a warm welcome. Belle Haven accommodates both skilled nursing and assisted living residents, with each population residing in their own wing of the building. Resident rooms are spacious with large windows, affording pleasant views of grassy areas and trees. Rooms come furnished, but residents augment their spaces with personal belongings. Skilled nursing and assisted living residents share the large dining room, complete with a buffet. Cloth napkins rest on tables, while country-style cabinets hold homelike treasures. Several community rooms are at the ready for residents looking for some fun. One contains a piano and big-screen TV, an ideal spot for relaxing and catching up with friends. A second community room has a full kitchen for various cooking activities, and a handful of small sitting areas are perfect for visiting or doing puzzles.
