Fields and rolling hills surround Sanatoga Center, a two-story gray building with stately columns marking its entrance. From the front patio, residents can admire the beautiful rural skyline with farms and quaint towns dotting the horizon. They can also lounge in a lovely courtyard with umbrella-topped tables or stretch their legs along walkways encased by gardens. When we entered the building, we admired the cozy waiting area. Comfortable chairs grouped in front of a fireplace create a welcoming experience. Thriving plants throughout the numerous common rooms make residents feel at home. Each floor has its own dining room with long wooden tables and upholstered chairs that match the color scheme of the space. Large windows provide a serene mealtime view of the sprawling countryside. Residents watch TV and engage in activities in the dining rooms as well. Small common rooms with TVs and books provide additional activity space. One room even has an organ! Although bingo remains a classic favorite, the activity schedule has some interesting options, which include bible study, balloon volleyball, sing-alongs and moving to music (an easeful form of dance). Residents' rooms appear open and inviting with large windows and delicate curtains. Roomy closets and bathrooms help residents to feel comfortable in their surroundings.
