Seniors who value their independence and demand only the best in health care will likely be pleased with the services provided by the LIFE program. The modern building shares a space with Magee Rehab. Many staff members have been with the company since its inception, creating a stable environment for its participants, who share this longevity. Many participants have come to depend on the social interaction at LIFE for a richness their lives might otherwise lack.The well-lit interior, with framed prints and a large aquarium, provides a stimulating setting for participants. Two living rooms with comfortable seating and small libraries welcome both interaction and inward reflection. A smaller room accommodates group meetings and games. The dining room doubles as a multipurpose space, where participants engage in guided meditation, bingo, opera hours, art therapy, charades, sing-alongs and pet therapy. Participants who need feeding assistance can use the quiet room, where bible study and spiritual groups also take place. Lunch is provided, and sandwiches are always available as an alternative. Participants enjoy trips to the local supermarket and dollar store. LIFE is a Program for the All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), with two Philadelphia locations, the other at Greater Grays Ferry Estates. Both locations provide rehabilitative, primary and preventive health care, addressing both physical and mental health.
