Doylestown Manor sits on the corner of two residential streets lined with shade trees in the heart of this historic town. Pretty greenery edges this attractive red brick building with black shutters. An aviary with beautiful songbirds greets visitors and residents in the center's cheerful lobby. A photo album featuring residents past and present, and a bulletin board announcing current activities complete the room. Each floor has its own dining room, all of which are bright and cheerful with lots of windows and natural light. The first floor dining area doubles as an activity space with a big-screen TV and vibrant aquarium. Additional TV rooms with comfortable seating and tables are located on each floor, and can double as private dining rooms. Attractive borders and lovely sconces line the carpeted hallways leading to resident rooms. The rooms are spacious, with large windows looking out to the lawn outside. Residents have personalized their spaces with treasured memorabilia and photographs. A simple outdoor patio with attractive wrought-iron furniture makes a great gathering place for residents on a nice day. On our visit, it was surrounded by bright marigolds. The residents we observed were quite animated and under the care of a very interactive and respectful staff. A unique feature of Doylestown Manor is its full exercise room, which incorporates Freedom Through Functionality, a program tailor-made for seniors.
