Bryn Mawr's efficacy is seen in the residents who inhabit it. Some individuals arrive hopeless, unsure whether they will ever function as they have in the past. Through expert nursing care and physical therapy, however, many residents eventually show marked improvement. A family-owned organization, Bryn Mawr houses assisted and skilled nursing residents in a rural setting with lavish accommodations. Tree-lined streets and residential homes characterize the quaint suburban neighborhood. An imposing fountain marks the canopied main entrance. Multilevel landscaping incorporates a rock garden and seasonal landscaping. Patios, decks and comfortable outdoor seating areas inspire outdoor activities. Residents plant fruit and vegetables in a greenhouse. The interior features classic décor with artwork and silk flower arrangements. The electric fireplace in the main living room enhances the facility's rustic charm. Skilled nursing residents eat in a dining room on the first floor. With a piano and an organ, it also serves as a multipurpose room. Natural light and chandeliers brighten the room, elegantly decorated with dark wood furnishings and floral centerpieces. Although there is a buffet with alternative meal options, a waitstaff serves lunch and dinner, and residents take breakfast in their rooms. Common areas include a multipurpose room on the second floor, an informal canteen and the Octagon Lounge. This glass-enclosed lounge has plush carpet and wicker furniture, and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscaping. Residents enjoy many activities, including pet therapy and trips to restaurants and theaters. Birthdays are celebrated with a limousine trip to the restaurant of residents' choice. The facility is divided into ten nursing suites, each with access to a concrete patio. The carpeted rooms come with basic furnishings and a TV, although residents are welcome to supply their own furnishings if they choose. Two large windows allow for abundant natural light. There is a separate wing for residents with dementia.
