Gwynedd Estates is situated on thirty wooded acres in a suburban community. Opened in 1976, this campus accommodates both independent and assisted living residents. Skilled nursing services are available at Spring House Estates, a sister continuing care retirement community right down the road. The vast majority of residents here are still quite independent, and they reside in studio, one, two or three-bedroom apartments in one of seven buildings. Assisted living residents live in a separate facility on campus. Most apartments have private balconies or patios, and all have wall-to-wall carpet, full kitchens and baths, and ample closet space. Larger apartments have two bathrooms and a study. Residents may traverse the magnificent exterior along several walking paths dotted with benches and gardens. Ponds and fountains complement the peaceful scenery with the soothing sound of trickling water. Shuffleboard and horseshoe courts sit adjacent to a charming wooden bridge that spans a meandering stream. Another walking bridge connects the residential buildings.Natural light floods the main lobby, emphasizing the large piano at its center. A variety of cheerful finches congregate in a brightly lit aviary, the perfect nest away from home. The warm décor consists of deep red, blue and cream-colored furnishings and accents. Residents enjoy meals in café-style dining areas for lunch and in a large, formal dining room for breakfast and dinner. Large chandeliers cast a soft glow over the elegant space, which features rustic wooden ceiling beams. There is also a dining room in the assisted living section, with a jukebox to invigorate already lively crowd! After meals, residents can stargaze and recharge on a shaded deck that overlooks a courtyard. Residents play games, attend religious services and take trips into the community regularly. They can also test their industrial skills in the onsite woodshop. A library provides a quiet spot for reflection, and there's even an auditorium for entertainment and meetings. Gwynedd Estates provides a place to grow, have fun and explore without worrying about the future.
