Find Senior Homecare Providers

Senior homecare, also known as in-home care, is professional, non-medical care that an individual receives in the home to help with anything from companionship to daily living needs. Home caregiving aides provide companionship and assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs), such as eating, bathing, toileting, dressing, and/or medication reminders and may also help with light household chores or transportation needs; however, they are not providers of skilled doctor-prescribed medical care, such as home health care. Homecare workers are trained in providing quality, personalized care and attention as well as fostering a safe environment.

Senior homecare services do not consist of nursing care nor are home caregiving aides permitted to administer medication. Heavy housecleaning is also uncommon. For seniors who choose to age in place, homecare may be a practical option when assistance with some basic tasks is required.

Finding Quality Home Caregiving

In-home care is normally either a private pay situation or is covered by long-term care insurance. When selecting in-home care services, you will be required to choose between a full-service agency, a referral agency, or a private-hire caregiver. While a full-service agency takes care of all screening, interviewing, and hiring tasks, a referral agency or private-hire caregiving will necessitate you taking on employer duties.
