Founded in 1850 by Gold Rush pioneers, JFCS is the oldest social service agency west of the Mississippi, providing people of all ages, faiths and ethnicities with the services they need. In addition to their highly regarded hospice program, they also offer a comprehensive bereavement and healing program called "Healing From New Loss," offered to small groups and individuals. There is also ongoing pastoral support available for the chronically ill and the dying.
