Woodland Care Center is a cream-colored building with light brown trim. Two large windows with green curtains peek out onto street. The facility is in the midst of ongoing renovations. The attractive lobby features a tile floor with a green tile border, a couch, wingback chairs and end tables. Off to the side, a lovely flower arrangement marks the center of a round wooden table. Paintings of flowers adorn the walls. In the large main dining room, round tables seating four at each sit atop gleaming hardwood floors. Since this room doubles as an activity space, it's stocked with two vending machines, a piano and a stereo system. When seniors aren't tapping to the tunes, they enjoy arts and crafts and bingo. A second smaller dining room holds four round tables, covered in floral vinyl. Residents who require feeding assistance eat with everyone else, so that neither room is reserved for specific groups. One perk of choosing the smaller room is the pleasant courtyard view. Lawn furniture, flowerpots, a barbecue and a corner fountain enliven the space. Resident rooms are moderately-sized and include new electric beds with purple bedding, TVs and bulletin boards in which to display photographs and greeting cards. Semiprivate rooms house up to three residents in each. The Internet is accessible in the family room, where visiting children often play. There are three therapy rooms on-site, all appropriately equipped. One room contains parallel bars for practicing walking, a stationary bike and stairs for step training, while another has weights and serves as more of a gym. Staff appears amicable.
