Gordon Manor is a small, one-story assisted living facility that specializes in serving individuals with memory impairments, including Alzheimer's. Beautiful gardens, which are meticulously maintained by the staff, surround the premises. Gordon Manor is located near a shopping district and two prominent medical facilities. The twenty-four resident rooms are individually decorated and fully furnished. Residents and their families are encouraged to decorate them further to make the as space personal and comfortable as possible. Halls are accented with sturdy antiques, and the furnishings are functional and attractive. Artwork created by the residents adds individuality and warmth to the décor. Numerous photos of the residents and staff on display make this assisted living facility seem like a real home.

Planning for and participating in special events is especially stimulating at Gordon Manor. Honoring the diverse ethnic backgrounds of its Peninsula residents, the annual International Dance Festival showcases performances that are relevant to the ethnic backgrounds of current residents and staff; an annual luau celebrated in the Manor's lush gardens honors Hawaiian tradition, and the event is much-anticipated by all.

The facility provides weekly educational sessions on dementia care to its staff, in conjunction with the nearby Hopkins Manor, a sister facility owned and managed by the same family. Gordon Manor recently finished an extensive remodel, adding additional rooms, which will bring their capacity to sixty by the spring of 2005.
