This wheelchair-accessible facility is designed primarily for short-term rehab patients, and is positioned on a busy commercial street lined with palm trees. There is free valet parking next door. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is just a half mile away from this attractive and contemporary stucco building. We were greeted by a cordial receptionist in the tiled foyer. An adjacent waiting room contains comfortable, modern furnishings. Although everything appeared well maintained, the facility was undergoing a complete overhaul, from the carpets to the paint, at the time of our visit. The second and third floors each have their own bright dining rooms, which double as activity spaces. Activities include bingo, cooking, lectures and live entertainment. The day prior to our visit, residents partook in a cooking project in which they baked apple pies. The top floor overlooks an attractive second-floor patio. Umbrella-topped tables, chairs and potted plants create a quaint outdoor space. Each floor contains a smaller lounge that can be reserved for private dining. Physical therapy is a key component of the program; residents work hard to maximize the facility's resources and minimize the length of their stay. Most of the residents who weren't in the physical therapy room on our visit were relaxing in their rooms, which are enhanced by abundant natural light. Colorful curtains separate beds in semiprivate rooms.
