Greenery in the form of trees and bushes encase Kennedy Care Center's clean brick exterior. Benches border a small patio, where some residents come to smoke. A young tree grows from the center. At the time of our tour, we observed several residents exercising and stretching their limbs. Recreational opportunities abound in the spacious activity room, with a big-screen TV, round tables, a karaoke machine and a piano. Kennedy Care Center maintains a gentle philosophy of socialization, encouraging residents to be involved, but never making them to do anything they'd prefer not to do. Bulletin boards in the recreation rooms display the schedule of activities and birthdays, as well as photos of residents at play. Games, reading sessions, news groups, dancing and outings to beaches offer something for everyone. Residents dine in the recreation room and in an additional TV room. Pink and white accents highlight the entire facility, from common spaces to residents' rooms. A certified kosher facility, Kennedy Care Center has weekly kitchen checks conducted by a rabbi, as well as regular Jewish services. Christian residents meet their spiritual needs on Sundays, when a pastor comes to conduct religious services.
