This facility sits on a seven-acre gated community that was formerly the Ramsay-Durfee Estate. Three sister facilities are also on the property. The light yellow exterior is topped by an orange roof. The outside grounds look like a well-sculpted park with numerous trees, plants and colorful flowers surrounding a fountain. This assisted living facility is located in a building that also houses a skilled nursing unit of the same name. The diminutive assisted living portion is located in the east wing on the second floor. The main lobby sports olive green carpet with yellow and orange dots. The wood furnishings are placed around two large corner plants. A crucifix hangs on the wall alongside a depiction of an angel framed in gold. Continuing into the assisted living portion, the lobby is quite small with two cushioned wood seats and a wood coffee table. Residents' rooms, however, are spacious. All sport carpeting and windows. Rooms that look out onto the interior courtyard come with a slightly higher price tag, while those with a city view are less expensive. Decorations and personal belonging make each resident's room their own.

Redolent of a restaurant, the delightful dining room houses wood furniture softened by blue cushions, a buffet area and decorative round ceiling lamps. Tree-like plants make appearances throughout the room. There is table service, along with a salad bar stocked with plenty of fresh vegetables. Across from the dining room is the large chapel, which is reminiscent of a theater with its mahogany wood and cushioned chairs. Numerous TV rooms can be found throughout the facility; all are furnished with sofas and big-screen TVs. Three outdoor areas allow residents to enjoy the weather. A patio sits at the facility's center. Here, a soothing water fountain is bordered by plants, a handful of trees and numerous park benches and chairs. Residents often go for walks in a park that sits on the northeast side of the facility. Those with green thumbs use the garden area. As we toured, we noted that staff members were friendly to us, but were particularly helpful with residents. We saw staffers encouraging residents to participate in activities, which include games, exercise, movies and religious services. A monthly newsletter keeps residents abreast of activities and special events. Management keeps staffers up-to-date with bimonthly training sessions.
