Hancock Park Senior Assisted Living, LLC sits adjacent to its affiliated skilled nursing facility. Although both buildings are somewhat plain, the surrounding area is lively and colorful. Passionate shoppers appreciate the proximity to The Grove, an open-air mall with popular retail establishments and a large movie theater. The Beverly Center, also nearby, provides a more upscale shopping experience, with distinctive boutiques. When we visited, the facility was in the midst of a complete renovation, which will include newer furnishings and a more appealing décor.

This facility has hotel-style rooms furnished with white wood pieces. Some rooms have balconies and most have large windows with elegant neutral-toned drapes. The dining area, set like a banquet hall, sharply contrasts the simple front lobby. Bright floral centerpieces accentuate the tables and complement the sunny yellow wallpaper. With one communal balcony and two patios, the facility offers many options for enjoying the outdoors. On the second floor patio, residents sit at umbrella-topped tables by a small patch of plants. The rooftop patio is the acme of this facility. The view of downtown Los Angeles, the Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills is breathtaking. Some residents smoke in this area, and one resident commented that the view makes his breaks far more pleasant. When not admiring the cityscape, residents make crafts projects, play games, watch movies and go on field trips to the beach, parks and library.
