Nestled in an upscale residential neighborhood, DanMar Retirement Villa is a large, secure home with trees and plants throughout the grounds. Hollywood, The Grove shopping center and Kodak Theater are all in close proximity. A patio runs along the building's facade and a park in the back is often lively with the sounds of children playing. Near the parking lot, a second patio has seating and lush greenery. A patio on the second floor overlooks the park.

The contemporary living room contains a green marble fireplace, leather sofas and a big-screen TV. Much of the facility appears modern, with interesting carpet patterns and angled furniture. The bingo room, for example, has a kicky blue and green checkered tile floor, vinyl chairs in contrasting colors and a popcorn machine. A huge bingo board is painted on one of the walls. The dining room, with wood floor tiles, has been painted a light olive green. Residents sit in cushioned chairs at wooden tables. Fine china in various designs creates a lovely display in a sturdy wooden cabinet. A dietician comes to the facility monthly. Occasional lunch outings mix up the routine.

Resident rooms are spacious with sliding closet doors and small balconies. The cream and brown marble furnishings are elegant and stylish. The second floor houses independent living residents. Upon a doctor's orders, the facility provides physical, occupational and speech therapies. Activities include scenic drives, concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, card games, exercise classes, parties and religious services, as well as outside entertainment.
