Residents of Bella Casa Care Home consider it an exceptional facility; during our visit, two of them offered recommendations based on the excellent care they receive. Another resident had high praise for the cuisine. In addition to enjoying appetizing meals, residents also exercise, sing and play trivia games. The owner prides herself on the caring and helpful staff, many of who are members of her family. Bella Casa boasts one of the best reputations among assisted living facilities in the Berkeley area.

The small home resides on safe, tree-lined McGee Avenue, just moments from downtown Berkeley. A trellis tops the picturesque wooden fence that surrounds the building. Residents often watch neighborhood activity from the paved front yard, where shrubs and plants add appeal alongside comfortable patio furniture. The tidy main room serves as the entry, dining area and living room. Green walls create a vibrant backdrop for hanging artwork. We observed two residents relaxing in easy chairs as they watched TV. Vibrant red chairs encircle the small dining tables along one wall. Red handrails edge the wide hallways. Residents' rooms vary in size but all feature enough space for two beds and additional furnishings. Windows and overhead fixtures brighten the well-kept rooms.
