Light it Up!
INSIDER
TIP: Make late-night bathroom trips fall-proof!
Bright Idea...Stop your loved one from having to fumble around—or worse yet fall—during late-night bathroom trips: install cordless motion-sensitive lights in your bedroom, hallways or bathroom. For a very bright beacon we recommend Hammacher Schlemmer's cordless version that was originally designed for lighting outdoor pathways. Be careful when installing the lights in a bedroom as you don't want normal nighttime tossing and turning to activate the sensors. Also keep the sensors high enough that family pets can't turn your hallway or boudoir into a disco. If the area covering the stroll from the bedroom to the bathroom are only utilized by one person, then getting a small combination night and motion sensor light just might fit the bill or you could also buy yourself some time in deciding the best placement for the lighting by getting Philips SpotOn Portable Light.
What Makes Them Shine...By going cordless all you need to do is mount or plug the lighting mechanism to the appropriate areas and you can cut your fall risk, because no chords and extra lighting will pave a clear path for your loved one. (Make sure to keep tabs on your batteries if your light is gonna need 'em.)
Refresher: Remember to look on the bright
side—you can reduce fall risk whether you choose to mount, plug in or keep your light in tow.
