Scott- Thank you for the very helpful explanation of qi, along with the suggestions for maintaining it. Your expertise is most appreciated. And all along I thought there was no connection between Mojo and organic produce. Now I know better.
So what's the benefit of organic foods when it comes to maintaining Qi? I know it's generally considered more "pure" but I always question necessity and how it plays into this particular part of my health.
Zach,
Thanks for the comment!Â

Josie,
In Chinese Medicine, it is said that one of the functions of the Liver is to move the Qi throughout the body. When the Qi is not moving well, we feel irritable, anger easily, and have stiffness in the body, pain in the muscles and joints, and generally don't feel well. If we eat a diet that is impure or that contains toxins (pesticides, herbicides, etc.), the liver has to work overtime to filter these toxins from the bloodstream. If the Liver is over-burdened, it is unable to perform its necessary functions well, and the body cannot function at its most optimal level.

So is there somewhere you can (or have) elaborate on some of these things.
As far as "organic" goes, Tell me that doesn't include those boxes of said item with -ORGANIC- labeled on the package does it?
Why is it that rices and such are really good source of Qi and not other items?
What types of meat would be considered high quality and what would you consider "in moderation"?
How much is too much as far as alcohol and Smoking goes? (though I have stopped drinking and going to stop smoking)
Why is it better to cook your veggies instead of eating them raw? Doesn't that take away from the light of the earth it gives you?
I apologize for being a question factory, but I am still young compared to the world. Getting back in touch with earth and her spirit is important to me.
If qi from foods increases our qi, why is it not true that the more food you eat, the more energy you have? Increased calorie consumption after a certain point brings sooner death.
I haven't found an explanation of energy that sounds completely right on yet, although this is close. I think the nature of these "energies" is so different that they should hardly share a name.
