I have been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. Can I still not have enough acid? I took the meds they gave me for several months and I did not feel better. I started taking mastic gum, dgl and enzymes along with some antiacids about three weeks ago and I still don't feel better.
Is there anything I can do?
I have the same problem as Carolyn. I have a hiatal hernia and take a proton pump inhibitor. I try to avoid coffee, but do drink tea. I have tried some enzymes. I still have heartburn. I also had my gallbladder removed about a year ago and since then my heartburn problem seems worse. I recently had an EGD and everything was normal. I wonder if taking the proton pump inhibitor might be causing me to have too little acid?
