It is my understanding that if one has a chronic, non-recoverable illness, such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's Disease, etc., Medicare will not provide Home Health Care. True?
Medicare does not pay for things like the article said. for home health the nurse or therapist only comes for30 to 60 minutes to check on you, do would care, instruct you or your caregiver. The bathe aide will only come to help you with a bath once or twice a week and that does not include help with eating or toileting thru out the day. The government has cut back on the funding for home health care but it is a secret to the consumer. Because of red tape that the government has developed the home care staff are less able to meet the neeeds in the home. It is much different than it was 15 or 20 years ago.
