i live in florida & have worked w/ elders & persons w/ disabilities for over 30 yrs. there is much left unsaid by your list of services provided by the medicaid waiver in the sunshine state. for instance, while a medicaid waiver is available to supplement the cost of an alf, the maximum is $78.40 or $239.00 for a single individual, (there are 2 categories of supplemental payment), and these are to supplement a monthly state rate of $698.40, or $822.00. additionally, the income limits to be eligible for either of these payments is less than $860.00 per month. obviously no decent alf is available at these rates.
regarding the med waiver to help keep elders in their own homes, & out of nursing homes is so limited that it is wait-listed for years.
ALABAMA has Medicaid Waiver too....
Colorado has an AL waiver. Texas has a new, limited program to move NH residents to AL under Medicaid, if they qualify medically.
