Thanks for listing this book review! I'm a caregiver to my aging mother and I also work at a nursing home. Obviously, it's tough to see my mother slowly fade away, but I also grow very attached to the people I help during the day. Remembering it's all part of a spiritual journey certainly brings me peace.

I'm so glad there are more books out there for families and caregivers. As little as seven/eight years ago, when I began to care for my mother full time, I couldn't find anything that really addressed caregiving much beyond the medical "necessities."

That's why I started writing every day. I wrote about the hilarious moments caring for my mom, my kids, and running a house brought. Who knew Parkinson's and Alzheimer's could have its funny mooments?

I also had to go to the other side of the pendulum and write about the nitty-gritty side--the guilt, frustration, and hurts that come in tow. Caregiving is about a lot more than changing adult diapers. It's about what it does to our lives and soulsa nd how we view the world.

Now that the boomers and sandwich generation are facing this challenge in record numbers, the media is finally responding.

Thank you so much for the work you do. I collect blog sites to recommend to support groups and conferences, and whenever I share my story about caregiving. I look forward to checking out Caregiving: The Spiritual Journey...

The above article will touch the heart strings of anyone who has taken care of a loved one for any length of time. Being the caregiver for my Dad was an honor and a time in my life I shall always cherish. I'm glad to read something that is trying to alleviate the term "burden" when talking of caring for a loved one.
