A Worthy Cause?
We sure think so! This past Saturday, the Gilbert Guide team lent its efforts to the San Francisco chapter of Little Brothers–Friends of the Elderly fifth annual Bowl-a-Strike for Seniors. We’re happy to report that we surpassed our fundraising goal, raising lots of money for Little Brothers–Friends of the Elderly, and our team won second place for best costume thanks to our self-designed T-shirts (concept by yours truly, and design by our resident artist, Carmela Porral)!
The event drew quite a crowd, and the fundraiser was a success. We’d like to thank everyone whose generous donations will help make a difference in the lives of local Bay Area seniors. If you or anyone you know is looking for a great volunteer opportunity, visit your local Little Brothers–Friends of the Elderly chapter. The organization provides advocacy and companionship to isolated seniors, and is always looking for new volunteers.
Bowled over by the turnout—

What a great thing you all did going bowling for older people. I hope the little brothers raised a lot of money that day. I also hope they do something like this where I live in Houston!
